Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti is a teen singer-songwriter and actress American, has been signed to Murder Inc. Records to release her debut album in 2002. The same year she also made an appearance in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always On Time track, both of which turned into huge smashes. We can celebrate this special day with us. Ashanti Shequoiya, more popularly known as Ashanti is a native of New Yorker, born in Glen Cove on 13 October, 1980. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti and Ken Kaide Douglas is father. The oldest of the three is the Kenashia Shia Douglas who is older sister. Douglas chose the name Ashanti in honor of Ghana's Ashanti Empire in which women held power and had power and influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to be a part of this model.
